![]() Cubase 4 was released in 2006 and featured a new audio engine and a redesigned user interface. In 2004, Cubase SX was released, which added support for 64-bit audio processing and a new audio engine. This version of Cubase also introduced the AudioWarp time-stretching and pitch-shifting technology, which allowed users to manipulate audio without affecting its original pitch or timing. In 1993, Steinberg released Cubase VST, which added support for VST plug-ins and virtual instruments. This version of Cubase was popular with professional musicians, and was used to produce many popular albums in the early 1990s. It was a powerful MIDI sequencing and sequencing editor, and featured a built-in sample editor. The first version of Cubase was released in 1989 for the Atari ST platform. Steinberg offers the software in three versions: Elements, Artist, and Pro – so there’s something for everyone regardless of budget or ambition. With such a long history, it is an incredibly powerful and feature-rich program that has gained a huge following of devoted users – from amateur musicians to top-tier professionals. In 2019, Cubase celebrated its 30th anniversary which stands testament to its popularirity and breadth. The basic controls are easy to understand and use, which makes Cubase easier and more convenient for beginners. But with some guidance and comprehension about this DAW, the set up and learning curve can be quite a bit easier. ![]() But like any other DAW, it has its own unique quirks and workflow to navigate. ![]() ![]() This is now considered to be the most versatile Cubase yet.Ĭubase is a powerful DAW that is versatile for any music genre. Configuring Cubase SX V3.0.0 or higher 1) Click on the ‘Devices’ menu and select ‘Device Setup’.Including abundant horsepower, Cubase 10.5 offers users over 90 FX plugins, including 8 outstanding virtual instruments that utilise more than 3,000 sounds, and a host of other updates and major improvements, therefore competing and standing out from its predecessors and competition. Audio mixing on the Input and Master Layers, and Automix continues while the Cubase SX Layer is selected. In order to control the DM1000, you need to select an Input Channel Layer or the Master Layer. When the Cubase SX Remote Control Layer is selected, the DM1000’s control surface controls Cubase SX rather than the internal mixing of the DM1000. (See “About Remote Function” in the DM1000 manual for more information.) 4) Press the LAYER button to select the Cubase SX Remote Control Layer. 3) Select the display access key and assign CUBASE SX as the Target for one of the two Remote control layers. Driver Installation 1) Connect your PC or Macintosh computer The DM1000 should be connected to your computer by connecting the TO HOST USB port on the DM1000 to a USB port on your computer.
